GATHERING
Jesus taught your purpose in life is to love God and love others. If you want to learn more with fellow students of Jesus, join us for our weekly Gathering Sunday Mornings. We will sing, pray, and learn from God’s Word with you. We come from a variety of backgrounds. We share the common goal of loving God and loving our neighbor as Jesus taught. Our gathering ranges from casual to business casual in dress. If you want to take a step towards Jesus, we invite you to join us this Sunday.

IDENTITY
Jesus
We believe what the eyewitnesses of Jesus said about him is true, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” (Matthew 16:16). We also take Jesus at his own words, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, ESV). Jesus is the only way to God, the perfect sacrifice for sin, and the risen King over death.
Jesus reigns now over all who believe in Him and give him their first allegiance. The Holy Spirit helps us live in obedience to Jesus, freeing us from sin to glorify God. We anticipate the day Jesus will return to finally defeat Satan and death, and make all things new for God’s people. (Revelation 21).

Mission
Shiloh Mennonite Church exists to worship and glorify God by
Mennonites
500 years ago a few Christians decided to live faithfully to the New Testament, instead of by the interpretations of the church at the time. They decided adults should make the decision to follow Jesus and be baptized. Several who had been baptized as Catholic infants then baptized each other. They were soon called “Anabaptists” (Re-baptizers).
A former Catholic Priest and writer by the name of Menno Simons became a spokesperson for one segment of this movement. Menno applied Jesus’ words to “put away your sword” as a command for Christians to reject violence. Christians were to be willing to die in love for their enemies instead of killing in self-defense. Their detractors called the group Mennonites, and the name stuck.

Affiliation
We are affiliated with one expression of that movement today. CMC is both Evangelical in its commitment to God’s Word, and the necessity of personal Salvation, and Anabaptist in its practice of faithfulness to the teachings of the New Testament.
As a partner with other churches in CMC, Shiloh finds encouragement in annual Pastors and Conference events. Shiloh’s young people have opportunity for discipleship and preparation as kingdom workers at Rosedale Bible College. Shiloh has an opportunity to reach the lost around the World through Rosedale International.
